There a few things you can do in order to be successful in an interview and have a better chance at securing that job/internship.
We gave you tips on how to write a CV, and hopefully those tips have brought you to the interview stage.
Preparation is Key
Always be prepared. It is better to be over prepared than under prepared. If you are under prepared you will be left not knowing what to say in an interview. One of the possible worst things that could happen.
In order to be prepared you need to prepare yourself mentally, physically and psychologically. This means preparing from that day you decided you want a new job.
On your CV you may have wrote down your interests and hobbies, eve some which may be made up. This means if they are research all about that particular hobby as they may ask you about it in the interview. On the day of the interview arrive around 15mins beforehand and sit and relax and prepare yourself again, read through notes and the likes if needed.
Get to know yourself and the company
Do you know much about the company you want to work for? Do you know much about their brand, is there any cultural misfits? You should expect to be asked “so what do you know about the company” this is one of the first question they will ask.
Use social media to find people who work for the company, see what they say about it, as well as finding the brands vision and core values.
A job interview is a professional chat and your interviewers are human. Treat them with respect and you will get the same level of respect back.
